South Queensferry

The Forth Bridge at sunset
Nothing too exotic today, certainly nothing to rival the excitement of  project 1111.  My intention had been to do the Tinto Hill Race but I found that it had been booked up for the last few weeks.  Years ago you could just turn up and do it but it is too popular now.

Anyway it ended up as a day of chores and shopping and then in the late afternoon a drive to South Queensferry for a walk along the shore.

It was nice to be in the autumn colours looking up at the bridges and the gradual sunset.

The colours were amazing as the day ended.  I always like to be on a hill, but today with these colours being next to the river was special.

While the bridge is man made, it doesn't feel obtrusive.  It is not an intruder on this place.  It is so familiar, so natural here that it belongs.
